It is a lot of pressure when a team has not won a game. Even more difficult, when your opponent is in the same position as you. This was the case for the Wise Pumas and the Laurel Spartans. Both, working hard, trying to apply all their learning about the game of lacrosse. The reality though, is on this evening stage, one of these teams will walk away as a victor. MFV anticipated this would be a lacrosse mastery to cover as two teams fight at the 300 for victory. The atmosphere was set early.

1ST HALF –  There was no face off and Wise was rewarded possession first. The Pumas set up their offensive attack going strong at a Spartan defense looking to create quick turnovers. When Wise went to strike, Laurel recovered the ball and drew first blood scoring quickly.  It was evident Laurel wanted to set a clear distance in points as they looked to improve on their offensive struggles. Losing a majority of their senior attack, the sought to take back the strong offensive front. So, they led into the half, 7-0.  A large part of this came from their previous 2025 goalie, Elijah #10, trying to help his offense playing attack.  Elijah, first half had already achieved a hat trick.

2ND HALF – This half was really no different from the first as Laurel continued their domination on offense and defense. In their previous games, a lot of the pressure was placed on their new junior goalie, #24 Brandon Brady. Brandon obtained a career high 27 saves after a tough loss Bowie last game. This half Brady was resting as both defense and offense stepped up tremendously.  Laurel added three more scores finishing the match with a 10-0 victory.  And while there is much to celebrate, Coach David Jahangiri, assured MFV All Sports Network they are taking no days off. They would be right back at it in practice.

CONGRATS to the SPARTANS, way to pull out the W. Stay focused and go in to next game ready to conquer.  GOOD JOB PUMAS, proud of the effort you put in. You fought to the end and didn’t allow frustrations to overcome you. KEEP GRINDING and learning, you guys have an excellent coaching staff pouring their heart in to you. TO BOTH TEAMS, stay grinding. MUCH SUCCESS to you for the rest of the season!!!!
