After a rocky season last year for former state champ coach Roger O’Dea, he has his team of to a undefeated start led by players #12 Stephen F, #0 Sammy T, #1 Bryson B, and #25 Josh Howard. Northeast looked to continue their undefeated streak against a tough opponent in the Glen Burnie Gophers. Glen Burnie is coached by Hall of Fame, Mike Rudd and led by #2 Chris M and #22 Kevin B, who just came off a DOMINATING win over their rival. The Gophers were looking to upset the Eagles to keep their streak going with their young team.
The game started out in of back and forth, with Northeast in foul trouble early. Coach Roger had a deep bench, and substituted Sammy to help the Eagles extend their lead. Glen Burnie kept fighting all the way till the half.
2ND HALF continued the same, with Northeast controlling the game and everyone contributing in scoring, trying to keep the ball out of GB superstar Kevin B’s hands.
Close to the end of the 4th period, GB’s Chris Maddox took control trying to make a Gopher comeback. However, O’Dea had his boys calm, controlled, and disciplined as the Eagles held on to win, 54-41.
