Walking on to the Glen Burnie High School field, the Wilde Lake and Glen Burnie varsity lacrosse  were already warming up. The weather was in the 50’s, however being I was just getting over a cold, felt more like the 30’s. The Gophers looked ready. The Wildecats seemed fully charged. It was the perfect atmosphere for some high school lacrosse competition.

1ST HALF – The Gophers started off strong and within a few minutes had the first points of the game in their favor. However, Wilde Laken did answered back. The game was tied 2-2 for a bit, until Lake scored putting themselves ahead by 1. They went in to the half leading 3-2.

2ND HALF – This half is where the Wildecats began to pull away. They added four more goals to their lead being able to manuver down field and score quickly. Their attack strategy in the first half GB figured out. Wilde Lake seemed to have changed the pace helping them score faster. However, in the fourth, the Gophers started to make a comeback. Seemingly taking more shots helped cut down Wildecats lead. They fell short by one point. Their effort was tremendous!!! Hats off to them. Congratulations to the Wildecats on their victory. Keep working and grinding Gophers!!!

Final game score: WILDECATS – 7  GOPHERS – 6.
