During warmups just before our second matchup of the night, the boys varsity teams seemed to be talking a little trash to one another, heads nodding as teammates agreeing they would be the ones to win this game. I found out later from an Instagram post by the Capital Gazette, this small incident was due to South River defeating Broadneck last year, 6-5. The game decided by one point, I’m sure played in the minds of teammates who played in it last year. What was I about to witness? I ask because the atmosphere was being put together for an interesting turn of events. Was this a revenge game in the making?

THE GAME  – To best summarize this matchup, let’s just say the Bruins motive appeared to be STRIKE!!! Strike quickly and defensively, go at the Seahawks to keep them from getting in any sort of scoring rhythm. The Bruins delivered, scoring fast taking many shot attempts. When on defense, Broadneck attacked causing the Seahawks to turnover the ball. By the third quarter the mercy rule was applied and South River was held to only scoring three goals.  Broadneck Bruins had seemingly enacted revenge on last year’s loss, winning this time, 17-3.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Bruins on securing the victory. What a strong statement made here with this win. To the Seahawks, you guys played your hearts out. KEEP GRINDING and WORKING, being the great team you are!!!!
