The weather was absolutely beautiful. I would venture to say it was perfect lacrosse weather. Was this to be an indication of the atmosphere being set for an excellent competitive LAX game? Yes, the Severn School Admirals were coming in off a 12-7 victory over IAAM opponent, Bryn Mawr School. The Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers were currently undefeated. Let’s dive in to the action.
1ST HALF – This half started off pretty tight. The Severn School drew first blood, and a momentum boost. But the Cavaliers were able to answer right back. They were tied and then Severn School lead by one, 4-3. However, let me just say that both of these teams possessed excellent communication. Their ball movement was great as the girls made good cuts when on the attack to score. The Cavaliers would take the lead going in to the half, 6-4.
2ND HALF – This, in my opinion, was the most competitive half. Both teams were going at it. The Cavaliers couldn’t get more than a three point lead, and the Admirals were able to cut that lead to one. With 1:35 left, Spalding was able to protect their lead and ride off in to victory lane. CONGRATULATIONS Cavaliers. And for the Admiral players I overheard, I fully agree losing by one point is not bad. You guys played exceptionally well!!!! MUCH SUCCESS to BOTH teams in your season.
