Football scrimmages are an excellent indicator to coaches for what things to expect, correct or implement in an upcoming season. Being in Annapolis, we discovered scrimmages can also be highly anticipated by teams and fans. And it was to that we arrived at Broadneck High School for a long awaited matchu between the Mervo Mustangs and the Broadneck Bruins.
WHAT MERVO SHOWED!!!
Mervo has a transfer quarterback out of Fallston HS, who looked absolutely electrifying. Actually both of their QB’s did (Mustangs got something spectacular indeed since senior star J. Solomon graduated). They read pre-snap formations well, and could take 🏈 the distance if no receiver was open.
Defensively, they are looking good. Mustang’s D is in a great position to what I can attest. Making sacks, quick-pressures, and a pick 6, these guys are right back at it on the road to a state title.
WHAT THE BRUINS DISPLAYED
Broadneck looked quite impressive. As they attempted to establish a good run game, oh how they put on impressive air attack. Looking forward to seeing how they execute this in the future.
Their defense has some top dawgs. Quick to fill gaps and going at the ball; they’re off to a good start. They show it’s going to be difficult to get pass them.

FINAL SCORE
Though the final score really doesn’t relect a whole lot, the Mervo squad came out victorious with 30-17 win.
Wishing both teams we absolutely love nothing but the best this season. Thank you for reading this article.
