Sun was shining, weather as great and JV football was about to have some serious action. Since Broadneck’s varsity defeated Glen Burnie on Friday, the Gophers sought to return the favor for their varsity’s loss.
Who would come out victorious?
THIS IS GOPHER NATION
Receiving the kickoff in the first have, Glen Burnie established earlier that they were here to win. Their house was going to be protected and put first points on the board after their QB sprinted to the end zone off a foiled snap.
The Bruins would answer scoring in the second quarter after using a fake punt to put them in great field position. And would have capitalized after a Gopher’s special teams turnover. However, Gopher’s defense forced Bruins QB to give up the ball later. A dotted passing TD, placed Gopher Nation in the lead at the half, 14-6.
TIME TO TURN IT UP
The Bruins looked a little dismayed going into the half. Saw their coaches pulling them together for some verbal encouragement and correction. Don’t like to be a distraction so MFV All Sports moved away and let them do their thing.
Something must have sparked in the Bruins because they came out firing. Almost getting an ALL DA SMOKE, put them in great position to score off a RB run. They started making plays on defense too. Getting to the Gopher’s QB and attack gaps aggressively, making key tackles when it mattered most.
Broadneck gained the lead in the fourth quarter, after their receiver broke tackles to push his way for the touchdown. Even though Glen Burnie put in a great effort to answer back, the Bruins achieved victory after fighting hard in the second half.
Final Score: BRUINS – 18 GOPHERS – 14
