Pulling up to the newly reconstructed Meade Senior High School bought back many memories of old. Not that we attended the high school but Severn Seminoles (local AA County youth football program) practices some times took place here. The field has been through where there was no construction, then, construction. MFV remembered a lacrosse game filmed; these memories reminded us this game was about building off from the past.
Another great thing about coming to Meade High School is their hospitality. The staff is always generous to MFV All Sports Network and crew, when on sight. We were greeted by literally everyone with Mustang pride. We especially enjoyed the breakdown of team strategy from Vincent Tran, the team manager and Mustang super-fan. He put us on to the on-fire Mustang JV players and who to be watching tonight on Meade’s side. We can see why the Mustangs has such a high respect for him.
We also checked in with Annapolis’s Dave Hunt on what his team would be doing tonight. Both teams were looking to grow off mistakes from the past like overcoming halted running/pass attacks, costly turnovers, and the most hated from any team: PENALTIES. The team who minimized these probably would secure the win tonight!!!
Let’s see what happened!!

NAPTOWN TAKEOVER
Meade received the kick in the first half after the Panthers deferred to the second. And while Meade steadily attempted to establish their ground game and gain progressively through the air; Annapolis put the first points on the board off a TD pass play.
Progressing, there was a bit of a turnover battle. Recovering a Mustangs turnover, the Panthers burrowed through adding another touchdown off a ground attack.
Annapolis was walking comfortably in to the half with a 14-0 lead.

THE COMING OF THE MUSTANGS
Meade could definitely feel the pressure of having to come back from a 14 point deficit. And it is at this time we want to give a special shoutout Coach Tanardo Sharp’s wife, who made extra sure we were hydrated and refreshed while covering the game. You do not really understand the value of what some of these teams have while observing from the outside. Mrs. Sharps could also be seen encouraging players, who may have been struggling with mental pressures of being down. KUDOS to Mrs. Sharps and the other teammates, yes other Meade players were doing this too.
Now, to start off the third quarter, one of our favorites to watch get ALL DA SMOKES, got one. Annapolis’s Dwian Gray, we know him as Weezy, has been pulling these off since youth football ( Search the MFV YouTube archives, you’ll see). Be careful kicking it to him, he’ll go Devin Hester on you in a minute.
Meade did not let this deter, as they first awarded a safety, due to a holding penalty happening in their end zone. And Meade would capitalize off this going in to the fourth quarter. Their first touchdown was anything short of amazing as 195lb QB K’dyn Rogers avoided getting sacked and got the ball to WR Damaury Eaton. The energy began to shift.
The Panthers would answer back as lineman #55 Roman Stramanak, came in as a FB, and got in to the end zone on the ground. Meade, not being finished, raced against the clock giving WR #4 Donte Bayton Jr who added another TD.
Annapolis came out victorious, and walked into a W, winning 28-16 over the Meade Mustangs.
