🆚 Middletown vs Urbana

Heading up to Ijamsville, one thing on my mind was how Urbana’s season has been playing out. Being the reigning 4A State Champions, they’ve only loss one game so far to Bullis. That game seemed to be a learning experience as the day before beat their rival, the Linganore Lancers, 14-4. They appear to be on a successful run for the playoffs again. I witnessed the same vigor last year just on the Lancers turf.  Being on a winning streak, would they fair well tonight against another 2025 stat champ opponent.

The other opponent on my mind, the Middletown Knights, coming also out of Frederick County. At states they had one of the most amazing comebacks in MPSSAA history. Not being the favored team vs the Fallston Cougars, they made a second half come back leaving the Cougars to only one goal. The Knights season also has been going well, losing to Walkersville while pulling out some great wins. Looks like they got a great outlook at a playoff run.

Two champions face off tonight. Two winners having good seasons, who is going to come out with the victory? The atmosphere is definitely rolling in motion!!!!

1ST HALF – Off the top, Middletown won the face off and started with possession. The Hawks defense was ready and soon offensively cashed in, drawing first blood. But the Knights would return the favor with a score. Urbana took the lead scoring and adding more goals to their lead. However, Middletown was winning a majority of the face offs. The Hawks defensive attack, and turnovers put them in position to score more. Urbana led in to the half, 8-3

2ND HALF – This half was pretty much similar to the first. Communication was great on both teams, Urbana just was a more dominant force on defense and offense. Getting turnovers and making the necessary adjustments to increase their lead. Middletown did fight until the end. The winner in this round, the Urbana Hawks, 18-5.

Do not count out the Knights. They learned some good lessons here I believe and we wish the much success in the rest of the seasons. You’re a great team. Keep grinding!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS URBANA. You put on a stellar performance. With a huge bench, I can see why so many want to play for you. You guys are awesome. Very physical team and disciplined. Thank you for allowing MFVAllSportsNetwork to come out. Hope to see you again soon.
