📍 Sparks, Maryland @ USA Lacrosse

Came back a second time to the wonderful Tiereny Field at the USA Lacrosse facilities in Sparks, Maryland. This revisit began first with the IAAM C Championship round between a 5th placed Friends School facing 3rd seeded Catholic High. As each warmed up, you could tell they both were super excited to make it to the final stage. All the hard work these ladies put in had been accomplished. Now the next step was to bring home the coveted trophy as IAAM C DIVISION CHAMPS.  The stage was being set right before my eyes for a wonderful lacrosse competition.

1ST HALF – The Cubs drew first blood, but it was answered back with a Quakers score. Catholic took a 3-1 lead but not for long as Friends returned fire catching right back up tying, 3-3. Both teams had good defenses and made great efforts to cause turnovers  Friends, not backing down, took a 4-3 lead. The ball was now in Catholic High’s hands to get back the game. They did, first tying it up at 4-4, and once again at 5-5.  The Cubs, determined to win,  went in to the half, 7-5.

2ND HALF – Friends came out with great intensity to score.  Making several attempts at the Cubs defense to score, but Catholic High couldn’t be broken. They continued to further their lead and ran down victorious lane winning 11-5!!! They celebrated even dumping the ice bucket on their coach.

IAAM C CHAMPIONS

CONGRATS to the Catholic High Cubs taking the crown as 2026 IAAM C CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!! You played with excellence and superiority. When down, you did not haste to stay there. You came back and secured your path to victory. Well deserved and it was great to witness it.

BE PROUD Friends School, you did a great job and fought all the way to the end. While the outcome is not desired for you, you showed us the true heart of sportsmanship.  You did not give up. Wishing you the best and future success.
