THANK YOU THURSDAY
📝 (KMillz – MFV All Sports Network)
Wanted to take the time this Thursday to bring recognition to Mike Rudd, Anne Arundel County legend and Glen Burnie HS coaching mastermind. Most of what I say in this thankful Thursday is based off my observation of Mike over the past few years in covering Glen Burnie athletics.
First off, Coach Mike bleeds Glen Burnie High. You can tell he loves Gopher Nation. If you’ve ever attended a game, and he’s not coaching , he’s going to be in his favorite spot of the gym rooting on his GB fam. He stands by them and loves each one of his players and students. He appears to be a big father figure who checks up on you and treats you like you’re apart of his own family. Being just a videographer, he’d always speak to me at events and make sure everything was good with me, when he really did not have to show concern. Neither afraid to voice his feelings, yet done in a gracious manner. Coach is just an all around great guy.
Coach Rudd is a Glen Burnie high school alum and former athlete, who spent 10 years as the assistant, and in 1996 became the head varsity basketball coach of the Gophers, lasting for thirty years. He was awarded numerous Coach of the Year awards. BUT the thing you’ll see stands out about Coach is he treats his fellow neighbor with RESPECT. He carries over to he seems more focused on others than himself. Now, we’ve seen him raise his voice a couple octaves, however it’s never at the point where he is disrespectful.
THANK YOU MIKE RUDD for your impact to Glen Burnie High School basketball, athletics, the community, and the DMV athletic community. WE APPRECIATE YOU and WISH YOU THE BEST in your new upcoming endeavors. If you’ve been impacted by Mike, please show him some love in the comments.
