If you’ve been following high school football, it’s impossible not to recognize that the KINGS OF MOCO & THE 4A are the Quince Orchard Cougars. Grabbing their 7th states title, and a 14-0 record, it is no wonder that in 2026, they’re the football team every opponent they face is looking to dismantle them!!! BUT looking at their upcoming season, the question remains, “Is that really going to be possible?”
WHAT TO WATCH FROM QO!
1 – SAME DOMINANT DEFENSE
The same defensive reign you saw last year, majority are still on QO. Their edges are tight and secondary the real deal. Look for them to be super difficult to run against. Passing the same, and their speed and situational awareness even more ferocious.
2 – A DANGEROUS OFFENSE
Last year, the Cougars had to adjust to the loss of star RB, Rocket Howard, who punished the state for four years. And they were quite successful in 2025 of maintaining a good balance of run and pass. They are heading up to their season start with some QB changes as their RB and WR core are going to be forces to be reckoned with. The offense has some stars I believe are seasoned and ready to execute the mission.
3 – SAME TOP TIER COACHING
Head Coach John Kelly returns again with same energy and mastermind that makes Quince Orchard a DMV dynasty. I would not sleep on the genius they draw up coming in to 2026.
Looking forward to a great season from Cougars. Wishing you nothing but the best. Keep shining and grinding!!!! Thanks for taking the time to read this article.
