- 5 WAYS TO KNOW YOU HAVE A GOOD SPORTS FITNESS TRAINER
The DMV offers so many games schools are wishing to could get more media coverage. Some of the problems are only the popular games get attention, or the demand outweighs the amount of availability for media. Also media that do cover games just don’t have the time or are too burnt out.
In my travels to South Carolina, and input from my son’s time in Florida, the DMV is considerable way behind (I don’t mean that to be disrespectful). Somehow, schools and media work together creating an atmosphere of balanced coverage. So, here are 5 ways can have that here:
1 – BUILD RELATIONSHIP
THIS IS THE BLOODLINE for coverage. Open communication & MUTUAL RESPECT creates trust and better opportunity for long term coverage. I saw this immediately when trying to cover the jamboree in South Carolina. And they will risk their life to protect it!!!
2 – SHARE INFORMATION EARLY
It should not be difficult getting schedules, rosters etc beforehand!!!
3 – PROMOTE TOGETHER
Collaboration and promoting is a gem. Even if a videographer/photographer cannot be there, having joint promotion makes other media aware of what’s going on.
4 – GIVE ACCESS & REOURCES
Ease of getting media credentials and access to interviews is a plus. I’ve noticed schools who simmer down on all the red tape draw more coverage.
5 – SUPPORT LOCAL COVERAGE
This is simple, let the little guys eat too. Engage with those who support locally.
The thing I want you to leave with most is without the BUILDING RELATIONSHIP, the others will not work. Bottom line!
I thank you for taking the time to read this article. Let’s continue to build together, and make more coverage a reality in the DMV.
