A point of contention at one time in our home, me being old school – You listen and don’t question the decisions of your coach. My children, new school – learning that not every decision a coach makes is right, and things can be respectfully challenged. Both still beg the question, what do you do when a coach/leader refuses to play you? These 5 things should help answer:

1 – STAY READY & KEEP WORKING

When training, prepare for the moment because opportunity comes. Even if the chance is not your desire, make the most.

2 – SEEK WAYS TO IMPROVE

Ask the Coach ( no matter if good or toxic) on specifically what needs your improving.

3 – LISTEN, THEN PLAN!!!

LISTEN on what’s needed to improve. Then, set goals and move towards tracking your progress.

4 – SHOW PROGRESS IN PRACTICE

The arena to display progress: Practice.  Yes we talking about practice. Let your consistent effort talk, especially there.

5 – SUPPORT TEAM & REASSESS

Support your teammates and then review your options.

Not everyone’s situation is similar. But these steps can give you the best outcome. Never give up, and keep striving for greatness.

Next time , we’ll dive in to recruiting. Have a great day.
