Baltimore County has a hidden gem located off York Road, the USA Lacrosse center which is a LAX museum and field serving as middle ground for local teams to play. This evening’s matchup was anticipated to be an excellent one.  The Maryvale Lions, who were the IAAM’s number one seeded girls lacrosse team,  arrived on Tiereny field defending their 2025 championship and an undefeated 2026 season. However, their opponent, the second seeded McDonogh Eagles, wanted to end all hopes of repeating championship victory while handing them their first season loss. Does it have to be amplified? The atmosphere was truly set for a girls varsity LAX extravaganza.

1ST HALF – The Maryvale Prepartory School began the game winning the draw and scoring first.  The team was continuing what they had done all season long, dominate the game and leading by large margins. The Lions possessed a very skilled defensive front, making it difficult for the Eagles to find their cutters. They also shut off easy lanes for scoring leverage going in to the half with a 6-1 lead over McDonogh.

2ND HALF – While Maryvale started to make it look like the game was out of reach, in the 3rd period, McDonogh kept them to one point the whole quarter.  The Eagles began to find ways to score from, and you could sense the confidence building to make a comeback. The fourth quarter proved different, as Maryvale put their foot back on the gas pedal. They would be crowned 2026 IAAM A CHAMPIONS, winning 10-5, while sealing their undefeated season and repeating victory.  

CONGRATULATIONS Maryvale, you played with valiant effort. You executed with excellence and we are truly proud of the hard work you have put in to the season. Your dedication paid off.  SHOUTS to the McDonogh Eagles, you ladies are truly awesome. You worked extremely hard to get to this stage. Very proud of you, continue grinding and lifting up one another.
