- 5 WAYS TO KNOW YOU HAVE A GOOD SPORTS FITNESS TRAINER
While it is easy to speak negatively about the toxic, it’s even better to highlight positivity. The DMV has some excellent parents who are super helpful to an organization. Below are 5 ways to be that person:
1 – SUPPORT THE COACHES
Have ALL of the coaches backs. Support them. If they coach or lead in other activities; BE THERE and show your support for them.
2 – VOLUNTEER
When possible (because we all are busy), volunteer. Give of your time. For example, in football, a lot of times teams are searching for volunteers to work the chains. Be diligent to volunteer ahead of time so they’re not looking last minute.
3 – ENCOURAGE EVERY ATHLETE
EVERY athlete, whether good or bad, is to be encouraged. Be that parent who always offers an uplifting comment.
4 – MODEL GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP
You should be the parent coaches, players, and referees love to see coming to the game. MFV, once heard a mother shout from the stands to be sure they shake hands and be good sportsman. That was gold nuggets to an event!!!
5 – COMMUNICATE RESPECTFULLY
Make sure as a parent, you are not disrespectful to anyone. Talk to every person kindly and with respect. Let your good words and actions speak volumes!!!!
Parents, coaches, teams, and referees do not make up all of sports culture. The pendulum must swing in MFV’s
